Where We Are in the Peak District...

Mead Farm is situated in the heart of The Peak National Park with easy access to walks in every direction. 
The village of Hope is about 10 minutes walk away and has local shops and pubs.  The Spar shop is newly extended and open until 10.00pm, very useful for emergency rations!  There is a local garage in Hope for fuel and repairs and also a 24 hour petrol station in Bamford about 5 miles away.
The railway station is two miles away from the village and is on the main Manchester to Sheffield line.  There is a bus route which runs through to Sheffield  from Castleton.  Taxis are available, but would need to be booked in advance.
In the case of an emergency, there is a local doctors practice with an attached pharmacy.
