Welcome to The Barn at Mead Farm…

Situated half a mile from the village of Hope, nestling in 6 acres of stunning farmland,  The Barn is a perfect base for exploring the Peak National Park.  The owners, Barry and Mary, live next door at Mead Farm and will be on hand to ensure your stay has everything you need for a relaxing break. 

The Barn has been lovingly rebuilt in the original stone to reflect its history but with the benefits of modern living within. The bedrooms feature vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and trusses. Light and airy with a contemporary feel, an ideal place to relax after long days walk.  Both cottages have central heating and a shared garden area to the side of the barn, and paved patio areas both front and back. There is off road parking provided in front of the barn with space for three cars.  Guests will also have access to the private farmland to the rear at certain times during the year.
 

Location and Amenties:

Mead Farm is situated in the heart of The Peak National Park with easy access to walks in every direction. 
The village of Hope is about 10 minutes walk away and has local shops and pubs.  The Spar shop is newly extended and open until 10.00pm, very useful for emergency rations!  There is a local garage in Hope for fuel and repairs and also a 24 hour petrol station in Bamford about 3 miles away.
The railway station is two miles away from the village and is on the main Manchester to Sheffield line.  There is a bus route which runs through to Sheffield  from Castleton.  Taxis are available, but would need to be booked in advance.
In the case of an emergency, there is a local doctors practice with an attached pharmacy.

The Barn is a short walk from The Cheshire Cheese Inn just along Edale Road.  Also newly refurbished, the Cheese has all the warmth of a traditional English pub with a friendly welcome from Craig and Carol, good food and drink and a great atmosphere.
